Pay All Your Bills Online in Nigeria, Instantly
Airtime, mobile data, electricity, cable TV, betting wallet, education fees, and international eSIM plans. One account handles every bill. No queues, no delays, and rewards earned on every completed payment.
Stop Juggling Multiple Apps for Your Bills
The average Nigerian uses three to five separate apps to handle airtime, data, electricity, and TV subscriptions. Sogo consolidates all of them into one account with one wallet, one history, and one set of credentials.
Pay for Others Remotely
Buy airtime or electricity for a family member across the country in seconds. Enter their meter or phone number and pay instantly without them needing a Sogo account.
One Transaction History
Every bill payment, airtime top-up, and data purchase appears in a single dashboard. Download receipts, track spending, and re-run past payments in one tap.
Fund Once, Pay Everything
Top up your Sogo wallet once via bank transfer or card. Then use that balance to pay any combination of bills without returning to your bank app each time.
Earn as You Pay
Unlike standard bank apps, Sogo gives you reward points on every completed bill payment. Points accumulate automatically and can be redeemed for bonus Naira.

How the Sogo wallet Works for Bill Payments
The Sogo wallet is your central balance for all bill payments. You fund it once via your unique virtual account number and then use that balance to pay any bill without going back to your bank each time.
Your virtual account number is permanent. Any bank transfer you make to that number reflects in your Sogo wallet within seconds, any time of the day including weekends and public holidays.
The wallet is also where rewards are redeemed. When you accumulate reward points from gift card trades, crypto sells, and bill payments, the corresponding Naira value is added directly to your wallet balance.
Permanent virtual account number
Transfer from any Nigerian bank to your Sogo virtual account number. Funds arrive instantly at all hours.
One balance for all bill types
The same wallet balance covers airtime, electricity, DSTV, data, education fees, and every other category. No need for separate funding per service.
Rewards credited here
Reward points from all Sogo activities are redeemed as Naira straight to this wallet. The more you use Sogo, the more you earn back.
Tips for Smooth Bill Payments on Sogo
Follow these guidelines to avoid common payment issues and ensure every transaction completes successfully.
Double-check meter and phone numbers
Airtime, data, and electricity payments are processed to the exact number you enter. An incorrect meter number or phone number means the payment goes to the wrong account. Always verify before confirming.
Ensure your wallet has sufficient balance
Fund your wallet before initiating payments to avoid interruptions. Topping up via bank transfer to your virtual account number is instant, so you can fund and pay within the same minute if needed.
Save your electricity token receipt
Your prepaid electricity token is displayed at the end of the transaction and saved in your Sogo history. If you ever lose the token, retrieve it from your past transaction records without contacting support.
For DSTV, use your smart card number
Cable TV renewals like DSTV and GOtv require your smart card number, not your decoder serial number. The smart card number is printed on the card inserted behind your decoder. Verify it once and reuse it for all future renewals.
Keep your transaction PIN private
Your 4-digit transaction PIN authorises every bill payment. Never share it with anyone, including Sogo support staff. If you suspect your PIN has been compromised, change it immediately from your security settings.
Check the transaction status before retrying
If a payment appears to hang or timeout, check your transaction history before attempting the payment again. A duplicate payment for airtime or electricity is not automatically reversed. Contact support if the status is unclear.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about paying bills online in Nigeria with Sogo.
-
What bills can I pay on Sogo?
You can pay airtime top-ups, mobile data bundles, prepaid electricity tokens, postpaid electricity bills, DSTV and GOtv subscriptions, Startimes, digital recharge ePINs, betting wallet funding (Bet9ja, BetKing, Betway, Sportybet), WAEC and JAMB fees, and international travel eSIM plans. The full list of supported providers is inside the Sogo app.
-
How fast are bill payments processed?
Airtime, data bundles, and ePINs are typically delivered within seconds. Electricity tokens and cable TV renewals usually complete within 30 seconds. Betting wallet funding and education payments may take up to two minutes depending on the provider. You receive a confirmation as soon as the payment is processed.
-
Do I need to verify my identity (KYC) to pay bills?
Basic bill payments such as airtime, data, and electricity are available after email verification only. You do not need to complete a full KYC process for low-limit bill payments. Higher amounts and access to all services may require identity verification. Your current tier and available limits are shown in the app.
-
Can I pay bills for someone else?
Yes. You can pay airtime, data, electricity, or any other bill for any valid account in Nigeria. Simply enter the recipient's phone number, meter number, or smart card number when making the payment. They do not need an Sogo account to receive the service.
-
How do I fund my Sogo wallet to pay bills?
Your Sogo account comes with a unique virtual account number linked to a Nigerian bank. Transfer any amount from your bank app to that account number and it reflects in your Sogo wallet within seconds, 24 hours a day including weekends. You can then use that balance to pay any bill immediately.
-
Is Sogo available 24 hours a day for bill payments?
Yes. The Sogo platform is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including public holidays. Most bill payments process immediately regardless of the time. Occasional provider-side maintenance windows may affect specific services temporarily, but these are rare and typically brief.
-
What happens if I enter the wrong meter or phone number?
Payments are sent to the number you enter. If you enter the wrong meter number or phone number and the payment is processed successfully to that account, reversal may not be possible because the service has been delivered to a valid recipient. Always double-check all account details before confirming. If the number is invalid and the payment fails, your wallet balance is not debited.
-
Do I earn rewards for paying bills?
Yes. Every completed bill payment earns you reward points on Sogo. Points accumulate automatically across all payment types and can be redeemed for bonus Naira credited directly to your wallet. There is no separate enrolment; rewards are active from your first payment.
-
Which electricity companies (DisCos) are supported?
Sogo supports all major Nigerian electricity distribution companies including EKEDC (Eko), IKEDC (Ikeja), AEDC (Abuja), EEDC (Enugu), PHED (Port Harcourt), BEDC (Benin), KEDC (Kaduna), JEDC (Jos), KAEDCO (Kano), YEDC (Yola), and others. Both prepaid and postpaid accounts are supported depending on your DisCo.
-
